Travel insurance

Feather’s annual travel insurance policy always has a €0 deductible. This includes all plans.

In the event of an accident or illness you are fully covered to visit any doctor you choose. Just make sure to keep all the documents that you are given including invoices (correctly named and addressed), referrals, prescriptions and anything else!

The premium plan covers lost or damaged luggage.

There is no limitation on the cost of needed medical treatment.

Rescue costs are limited to €5,000 euros.

Reimbursement for cancellation, curtailment, and lost or damaged luggage is limited to €2,000 for individuals and €4,000 for families and partners.

The advanced and premium plans offer reimbursement for flights you have to cancel or delay due to an insured event, like sickness.

In an emergency, please go immediately to the nearest doctor or hospital to seek treatment.
You must also immediately contact the emergency hotline at +49 40 55557877 if:
• you need urgent treatment in a hospital (in-patient treatment); or
• before extensive diagnostic or therapeutic (e.g, massage or physiotherapy) treatments begin.

In all other cases, like treatment at a doctor’s office, you can simply claim after the incident or when you are back in Germany! You do not need to call the hotline.

All plans are annual policies. The yearly premium is divided and paid in monthly contributions.

In your Feather account, you can click on the claim button and submit your claim by completing the questionnaire and uploading all the documents needed.

Any needed medical treatment is covered, including injuries resulting from sport accidents.

Professional sports activities aren’t covered.

All of our travel insurance plans provide worldwide coverage, excluding Germany, the country of your residence. Coverage cannot be provided for trips to countries for which the German authorities have issued a travel warning.

This is an annual policy. It is valid for one year and will be renewed automatically after the first year.

You can cancel the yearly renewal anytime, up to one month before the end of the contracted year. The pending amount for the full yearly premium will be charged, and your policy stays active until the end of the contracted year. It will not be renewed for the next year.

Up to two adults and seven children (under 21) can be included in the family plan. If you have already taken out a family insurance policy, you can also add dependents later on. If you are on an individual plan, you can switch to a family plan at any time.

You can sign up for the annual policies at anytime, but only trips starting after the policy start date are included in the coverage.

If you are a resident of Germany and younger than 65, you are eligible for travel health insurance.

You can upgrade your coverage at any time. Downgrading the coverage is possible at the end of the contracted year.

Medical expenses are covered for all trips that start the same day or after the policy started. Costs for cancellations or modifications due to an insured event, are covered, if the policy starts not more than three days after booking the trip or if trip starts at least 30 days after the policy started.

Under the ADVANCED and PREMIUM plans, costs for cancellations and modifications to trips are covered in the following insured events:
- unexpected serious illness
- death or severe injury through an accident
- pregnancy or pregnancy complications
- substantial damage to the insured person’s property
- illness or death of a cat or dog registered to the trip
- breakage of prostheses or loosening of implanted joints
- adverse reaction to vaccination
- organ donation or receipt
- organ donation or receipt
- public transport delay

Under the premium plan the loss or damage of your luggage and personal belongings are covered in the following events:
- robbery, theft
- car, bus, flight accidents
- fire, heavy weather conditions, floods, earth slides, earth quakes, explosions
- damages caused by a transportation company
