What is drone insurance?
Drone insurance is liability insurance for your drone. It pays if your drone accidentally injures someone or damages their things.
Required by German law
In Germany, every drone owner needs it by law, even for small hobby drones under 250g. Flying without it can mean a fine, and you’d pay for any damage yourself.

What isn’t covered?
Damage to your own drone
Repairs or a replacement for your own drone aren’t covered.
Heavy or fuel-powered drones
Drones over 5 kg, or with a combustion engine, aren’t covered.
Business use
Paid photo or video jobs and other business use aren’t covered.
Fines and penalties
Fines and penalties caused by not following local laws, for example flying your drone in a no-fly zone, aren’t covered.
